Monumental Inscription
In memory of Susannah the beloved wife of Thomas Fleming, West Hill, Halifax, who died January 18th 1871, aged 58 years.
Also of the above Thomas Fleming, who died at Southport, July 22nd 1889, aged 77 years.
Also of Hannah, widow of the above, Thomas Fleming, who died at Altotts, Normanton, February 22nd 1905, aged 86 years.
(LH side) In memory of Francis Fleming the beloved husband of Jane Fleming who fell asleep at Southport December 4th 1913, aged 70 years.
Also Jane, the dearly loved wife of the above who died at Hull March 23rd 1920, aged 72 years.
He giveth his beloved sleep.
(RH side) In memory of George Francis, the beloved son of Francis and Jane Fleming, born July 1st 1880, died February 28th 1881.
Also of Dorethy Frances their beloved daughter born July 15th 1886 died August 17th 1886.
In loving memory of Thomas Worrall Fleming, their son aged 45 years. Pte Duke of Wellingtons W.R. Regt wounded and missing Aug 12th 1915 at Suvla Bay.
Greater love have no man than this.

Private Thomas Worrall Fleming
Here we have one of two memorials in this cemetery to men who fell at Gallipoli in 1915. Thomas Worrall Fleming was born in Halifax in 1870. His father was a prosperous card manufacturer living at Norfolk Place, King Cross Road. Before the War, Thomas was a card and belting manufacturer at Eccles, Manchester. He joined the 8th Bn. Duke of Wellington's (West Riding Regiment) on the outbreak of War in 1914.
He died 12th August 1915, aged 45 years and is commemorated on the Helles Memorial,Turkey (including Gallipoli), Panel 118 to 120. (CWGC)
